It was in the Omkoi District where the Christopher Robert Project became acquainted with the kind residents of these six surrounding villages. These six small villages have a total population of 1,488 in 362+ families. The Christopher Robert Project spent a year there supporting village residents by providing English language classes to 90+ hill tribe children between the ages of five and fifteen. We provided a nutritious lunch for the students after each English class. We used ten tablet pcs, a laptop, a projector, white board, music and other necessary items for fun learning. Volunteers from the village also provided art classes that emphasized the lessons previously learned in English class. The Christopher Robert Project regularly distributed bottled water, fruits and vegetables to elderly home-bound residents on each visit.
Two Minneapolis artists from Anderson Illustrations visited Thailand and painted a cartoon mural on the village kindergarten giving it a much needed facelift. The children were involved in the total design and painting as high as they could reach. Students learned various painting techniques on shading and perspective and everyone had a great weekend! Flooring was also provided for the entrance and was installed by village residents.
